Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I make a vehicle transport reservation?

We recommend booking your reservation at least three to four weeks before your desired pickup date. While we can often accommodate shorter notice, more lead time allows us to better schedule pickups and deliveries. If you have specific travel or moving plans, we advise scheduling well in advance to ensure our availability aligns with your timeframe without any issues.

How long does it take to transport my vehicle?

Typically, 90% of our snowbird transports take about 4-6 days from pickup to delivery. However, transit times may vary depending on scheduling, pickup/delivery locations, and unforeseen factors like driver regulations, traffic, and weather. While we aim for fast and reliable transport, occasional delays may occur due to various circumstances beyond our control.

How do I pay for my vehicle transport?

Payments are made in two parts. The first payment which is a deposit fee that's due once we have a confirmed carrier to transport your vehicle. This payment allows us to dispatch the carrier to your pick up location.

The second payment is the remaining balance of the order agreement. This payment will be provided after your final inspection of the vehicle at the destination location. We recommend paying via credit card, certified check, or cash to streamline the process.

Is Eastover LLC a broker?

YES, Eastover Logistics is a non-asset broker. We arrange vehicle shipments with Licensed, Bonded, & Insured carriers. Currently, we have a network of over 13,000 authorized carriers, with coverage in all 50 U.S. states.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes, your vehicle is covered by our cargo insurance policy. Although damages and accidents are rare, in the event of any issues, your vehicle is covered. To process a claim, you must report any damage upon delivery and note it on the Bill of Lading and Vehicle Inspection Report.

Regardless of damages, federal law requires payment for services rendered separately from any damage claims. Claims cannot be processed by our company if damage is not noted upon delivery. We recommend taking digital photos of your vehicle before and after shipment to support any damage claims. Damages are statistically rare, as new car manufacturers also ship this way.

How should I prepare my vehicle for shipping?

Ensure your vehicle is cleaned out of loose items and remove any valuables such as portable electronics and tolling devices. Keep personal items minimal, confined to the trunk or out of sight. Avoid filling up your gas tank before transport; only about 1/4 tank of fuel is recommended.

Strictly Prohibited: Items such as medications, medical devices, perishable food, plants, flammable materials, ammunition, firearms, and fireworks are strictly prohibited. Eastover LLC cannot be held responsible for these items if confiscated or removed from the vehicle.

Driver Consideration: Our auto transport truck drivers work long hours and are often away from their families for extended periods, especially during busy seasons. Please be friendly, helpful, and considerate to our drivers, and they will reciprocate. Tips are always welcomed!

How can I track the progress of my vehicle's transport?

We offer live tracking for most customers to monitor the truck transporting their vehicle. If you encounter issues with the tracking link provided, feel free to contact our office for an updated link or progress updates. Our drivers also communicate with the delivery contact approximately 24 hours in advance and on the day of delivery to provide ample notice. While live GPS tracking is not available on every reservation, we are working toward implementing it for all transports.

What does door-to-door transport mean?

Door-to-door transport entails pickup and delivery of vehicles to and from your home address (some restrictions apply). While terminal transport options are available upon request, we primarily offer door-to-door service for residential pickups in New England. In Florida and areas where larger trucks cannot access residential streets, we may utilize nearby parking lots such as Walmart or Home Depot for pickup or delivery.

Disclaimer: Northbound vehicles are typically picked up as trucks become available in Florida and are subject to pickup windows of approximately three days. We cannot guarantee a specific pickup day for Northbound vehicles unless terminal service is used.
